SUSTAINABILITY

Commitment to sustainability has been the leading inspiration behind Mariam Suri. A nod to old world values and a conscious effort to create high quality clothing that can pass the true test of time, from generation to generation.

A possibility to purchase made-to-order clothing in each product line is a deliberate stride towards a more sustainable approach to garment production. The house supports a fair and ethical supply chain.

In an effort to reduce the environmental footprint, Mariam Suri handcrafts timeless accessories with leftover fabric pieces from past collections and custom orders, supporting a no wastage policy.

The paper and packaging are purely eco-friendly and come from sustainably certified sources. Each component is either reusable, recyclable, or made from organic and recycled materials. They are as expressive towards the brand identity and values as the garments are.

The house envisions to continuously evolve and minimize its contribution to the existing global issue.

Mariam Suri hangtags are made with FSC (FOREST STEWARDSHIP COUNCIL®) mixed paper that is produced using recycled papers or paper sourced from sustainable forests. The satin ribbon is crafted from recycled polyester yarns. The brand identifying gold tassels are produced in small quantities from left over fine gold thread.

The clothing labels for the brand are made from broadloom 100% recycled polyester, woven from a material known as polyethylene terephthalate. This is the same material used for clear plastic water bottles, food trays and other packaging containers.

The thank you cards from Mariam Suri are thoughtfully constructed from high quality eco bamboo paper. Bamboo is a highly sustainable source and generates at a rapid growth rate, which makes it one of the top eco-friendly resources.

The garments come in a beautifully crafted organza bag that is made from a recyclable polyester yarn. Like the hangtags, the satin ribbon is also made from recycled polyester yarns and the brand identifying gold tassels are produced in small quantities from left over fine gold thread.

The house's business cards are produced from FSC (FOREST STEWARDSHIP COUNCIL®) mixed paper. This is produced using recycled papers or paper sourced from sustainable forests.
